Micro cement

Micro Cement Finishes

Micro cement is a thin, hand-troweled cement coating that goes over existing surfaces and cures into a seamless, stone-like finish — no grout lines, no demolition.

Where it works

Because micro cement is applied in layers only a few millimeters thick, it can go over tile, plaster, concrete and properly prepared drywall. That makes it a strong choice for bathroom walls and showers, fireplace surrounds, feature walls, kitchen splash areas and floors — places where a continuous, joint-free surface is the whole point.

  • Seamless walls, floors, showers and fireplace surrounds
  • Applied over existing tile and sound surfaces — no tear-out
  • Hand-troweled texture, from smooth to lightly movemented
  • Sealed for wet areas and high-touch surfaces

Built in layers, by hand

A micro cement finish is a system, not a single coat: primer, base layers, finish layers and a protective sealer, each one troweled and cured in sequence. The character of the surface — how much trowel movement, how much tonal variation — is set in the finish layers, so we agree a sample area with you before the room is committed.

Prep decides the result

Micro cement is thin, which means whatever moves underneath eventually shows through it. Substrates are checked for soundness and movement, cracks and joints are treated first, and corners and wet-area junctions are reinforced. That preparation is most of the job, and it is what separates a finish that lasts from one that telegraphs every seam beneath it.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can micro cement go over my existing tile?
Usually yes — that is one of its biggest advantages. The tile has to be sound and well bonded; we check adhesion and prepare the surface so the new finish has a stable base.
Is it waterproof?
The sealed system is water-resistant and suitable for showers and splash areas when the correct sealer is used. We specify the sealer to the room and tell you plainly where micro cement is and is not the right choice.
Does it crack?
The coating itself is flexible, but it cannot stop movement in the surface beneath it. That is why substrate prep and crack treatment come first — done properly, the finish stays intact.
How do you clean it?
With mild, neutral cleaners — no harsh acids or abrasives. We leave you with care instructions and the name of the sealer used, so resealing years later is straightforward.
