Interior painting
Interior Painting
Interior work is judged from three feet away, in daylight, for years. That is the standard we prep and finish to in occupied homes across Long Island, New York City and Westchester.
What interior painting actually involves
Most of the labor on a quality interior job happens before any color goes on. We protect floors and furniture, mask trim and fixtures, then repair the wall — nail pops, corner bead cracks, settlement seams, old patch flashing — and sand it flat before priming. Only then do walls, ceilings and trim get coated in the correct sequence so nothing is disturbed after it cures.
- Floor, stair and furniture protection installed daily
- Drywall and plaster repair, skim coating and spot priming
- Sanded, dust-controlled prep in occupied homes
- Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets in the right order
- Daily clean-up and a walkthrough punch list at completion
Rooms we finish most often
Whole-house repaints, kitchens and baths, primary bedrooms and closets, family rooms, two-story foyers and stairwells, hallways, basements, and finished attics. High stairwells and cathedral ceilings need staging and a crew that is comfortable working from it — that is routine work for us, not an add-on.
Finishes and sheens
We specify premium low-odor, low-emission products and match the sheen to the room: flat or matte on ceilings, scrubbable eggshell or matte on living walls, satin in kitchens, baths and mudrooms, and semi-gloss or a sprayed enamel on trim and doors. If you are choosing colors, we will put real sample areas on your walls so you can see them in your own light before we commit.
Where we have worked
Interior Painting has been completed across Long Island — Nassau County and Suffolk County, including the Hamptons and the East End — plus New York City and Westchester County.
Questions
Frequently asked
- Can we live in the house while you paint?
- Yes — most of our interior work is done in occupied homes. We work room by room, protect and mask each area, control dust while sanding, and clean up at the end of every day.
- Do you repair walls before painting?
- Yes. Patching, skim coating, caulking and spot priming are part of interior prep. Larger drywall repairs are listed separately on your written estimate so you can see the scope.
- How long does an interior repaint take?
- A single room is usually one to two days. A whole-house interior generally runs one to three weeks depending on square footage, trim detail, and how many colors are involved. Your estimate includes the crew count and sequence.
- Do you help with color selection?
- We will apply sample areas on the actual walls and, when the project is design-led, work directly from your designer's or architect's specification.
